Born in 1981 and rooted in Utrecht, L-Tuziasm is a contemporary artist whose inspiration comes from city life—particularly concrete, construction sites, fragments of architecture, and the rhythm of the street. In his work, memories and imagination are built from layers of paint, texture, and form, as if he is constructing new cities on canvas, driven by both intuition and analysis.
“The city never sleeps, and people are merely passers-by who will never know where the city ends,” says L-Tuziasm.
In Work in Progress (WIP), he plays with the idea of the city as something unfinished—a place that is constantly in motion, just like the gaze of the viewer. His work invites interpretation: what resembles a familiar apartment block to one person becomes a gateway to a dream world for another. Just as streets shift with each step, these works adapt to the imagination of every individual.
The exhibition features not only paintings but also mixed-media pieces aligned with L-Tuziasm’s street art practice. His signature style—playful, colourful, and optimistic—is clearly present in this show, bringing a wave of positivity and wonder.
L-Tuziasm’s work has previously been exhibited in galleries and art spaces in cities including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Brussels, and is part of private collections in places such as Barcelona, Stockholm, and Philadelphia. His work can also frequently be found in public spaces.
