Founded by former interior stylist Marloes Hoedeman in 2013, Love Stories was born out of the idea that "life is too short to wear boring lingerie." But boring was pretty much all there was at the time, as Hoedeman walked through stores filled with either the drabbest duds or beyond-in-your-face suggestive slinkies, having anything but fun shopping. Then she learned that the industry was almost completely run by men... and the rest is history!
Love Stories revolutionised the game with their flattering (but not necessarily enhancing – later, underwire!) bralettes, bright colours, funky touches and zero fear when it came to mismatching. Lingerie became not just the base of an outfit, it could be the outfit. And the store, a cute exposed-brick canal-house in the 9 Streets, is just as eye-catching and eclectic as the collection, with textures and patterns galore and accessories as far as the eye can see, spanning from cute, Breakfast at Tiffany's-like sleep masks to whimsical bow pasties. Of course, you can still get a good wired black bra if that's what you're looking for, and you'll have a bit of fun both buying it and wearing it
