Please note: This event will be held in dutch
Over a series of four events throughout the year, VanzelfSprekend has gathered eight interesting and engaging speakers for gatherings that will challenge you to think and open your heart. Aligning with current themes and societal issues, the substantive programme will deliver impactful talks that will leave you full of energy, insight and new ideas.
With a successful first event in the books, it’s time for round two. For the second session, ‘Waarom praten we er niet over’ or ‘Why don’t we talk about it,’ Filip De Groeve and Helmi van Doorn will take the stage.
During Filip’s segment, entitled ‘taBOOH,’ Filip tries to convert us all into fighters against taboos. He will talk about all the taboos that keep us back, addressing, among other things, the marginalisation of women due to menstruation, motherhood and menopause. And about the societal expectations that men are expected to meet, too. With it all boiling down to one issue: people determine taboos; taboos determine people.
In her segment, Helmi will share her personal story about dealing with unexpected and unwanted changes, challenging you to confront your own prejudices. With humour and courage, Helmi will make you face the look your beliefs straight in the eye.
Can’t make it to this round? Be sure to keep an eye on the coming two VanzelfSprekend events in September and December.
