We are excited to announce the upcoming exhibition featuring the works of Meike van Riel. In her own words about her painting process, she shares: “Driven by my fascination with simplicity, I engage in a dialogue with the canvas. I feel a necessity to translate my inspiration into art.”
Her recent large-scale minimalist paintings respond to the complexities of contemporary society, embodying a sense of calm and simplicity. Van Riel finds beauty in the viewer’s ability to experience this imaginative expression.
At first glance, each piece may appear to represent a single color, but upon closer inspection, subtle color nuances reveal themselves, inviting the audience to delve deeper into the composition. Van Riel challenges viewers to take their time in interpreting her work.
While there will be plenty of art to marvel at, we’ll have bites and bubbles to keep it fun and festive, too.
