Nina Gerritsen is an artist born and raised in a picturesque village in the middle of the Netherlands. Growing up surrounded by fields and nature. Nina pursued various studies in the creative sector, eventually finding her true calling at the art academy, where she specialised in fashion design. In her artistic evolution, Nina’s background in fashion remains evident in her current work. With a passion for experimentation, she seamlessly incorporates elements of fabric, paint, and patterns in innovative ways, breathing new life into traditional mediums.
Nina’s art journey begins with intuitive forms, crafting cotton patterns hand-painted with vibrant pigments. These become stitched collages, each a fusion of color and composition. Inspired, she began the initiative „Stitching Landscapes,“ under which she produces her pieces. With diverse themes, Nina breathes life into landscapes, weaving stories into her textile art.
This profound connection with nature became a central theme in her art, reflecting her belief that we are all connected to a bigger source.
